Battle of the Books:
BOB is a district- wide reading/academic competition.  It is open to all
4th and 5th grade students.  The purpose of BOB is to introduce students to a variety  of quality literature while teaching them team work, improving  their reading skills, and enjoying the thrill of competition.  There are 10 titles on this year's BOB book list.  Students must read 5 of the 10 before January to qualify for a team. Team practices will start in  January and run until our school-level competition in early March.  The winning Monarch Elementary team will represent our school at the District Battle of the Books Competition in March, 2018.
