Battle of the Books:
BOB is a district- wide reading/academic competition.  It is open to all
4th and 5th grade students.  The purpose of BOB is to introduce students to a variety  of quality literature while teaching them team work, improving  their reading skills, and enjoying the thrill of competition.  There are 8 titles on this year's BOB book list.  Students must read 4 of the 8 before January to qualify for a team. Team practices will start in  January and run until our school-level competition in early March.  The winning Monarch Elementary team will represent our school at the District Battle of the Books Competition in March, 2017.
